The Winter Trail Upgrades At Achasta Were A Success

Achasta is happy to announce the completion of our winter hiking trail additions.

There has been almost two new miles of hiking trails added to the already beautiful and adventurous trail system here at Achasta.

We have added Azalea Pass, which is fittingly littered with native azaleas along its edges. This additional trail is half a mile long and connects some of our previously constructed trails to create a more fluid network for hikers.

The newly added Luhi Trail is a challenging climb for hikers. Luhi actually means “climber” in Cherokee and trailblazers should be ready for just that. The end reward of this tough hike is worth the effort. The trail has spectacular year-round views of Mount Yonah in the distance.

Directional signs for our newly constructed trails should be installed by the end of March.

Along with the new additions to Achasta, there are plenty of challenging and picturesque trails in the North Georgia Mountain area where the avid hiker can experience some the state’s most beautiful and natural trail settings.
