Get Ready for Riverfest at Achasta

It’s springtime and everyone here at Achasta is ready to enjoy the wonderful North Georgia weather and what better way to enjoy it than by coming to this year’s Riverfest right here at Achasta.

Riverfest will be held at the Achasta River Park on April 24. The event will be a great chance for families to enjoy the fresh spring weather of the North Georgia Mountains while getting to know your neighbors and learning a little bit of the history of Dahlonega.

Activities will include fishing, horseshoes, bird watching, gold panning, and more.

This event will be the first chance for residents to see the completed upgrades to the Achasta River Park and will surely be a great day of family fun.

Riverfest is a drop-in event and residents should feel free to stop by sometime between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be served at the Parkside Grill which is conveniently located right inside of the River Park.

The Achasta River Park is located at the same location that the famous Diving Bell was recovered from the Chestatee River in 1983. In honor of Dahlonega’s rich history of the gold rush, we are trying to get a small gold dredge in order to demonstrate how these dredges operated during the rush. It will be a great educational opportunity for residents to learn about the history of the North Georgia region.

We hope that everyone can join us for a wonderful spring day full of family fun, activities, and great food.
