There are many benefits to buying local produce at farmers markets. When you buy healthy, high quality, and organic produce grown in your area, you’re insuring your family is getting healthy produce, while also supporting local farmers.

Starting in May, Dahlonega’s Farmers Market opens up to offer locals the best vegetables, fruits, and honeys the area has to offer, all of which are produced right here in the North Georgia Mountains.

Buying local is a great way for community members to empower and support local businesses, which is important in any community. Farmers in the Dahlonega area are producing some of the best fruits and vegetables available and are able to deliver them at a great savings. The produce is fresh and seasonal, which guarantees buyers are getting the best possible product at the best possible price.

The novelty of the farmers market was lost somewhere along the way and it’s refreshing to see its resurgence. The intimate relationships between farmers and buyers are coming back thanks to these markets. You can talk to local growers about their gardens, produce, and find out when to expect during certain seasons.

The Dahlonega Farmers Market is held every Tuesday and Saturday in Hancock Park. Farmers open their stands between 7:00 am and 7:30 am and will remain open until 3:00 pm or until they run out of their daily inventory. We recommend getting there early for the best selection.
