Get Ready For the July 4th Weekend Here In Dahlonega
The 4th of July is just around the corner and there will be plenty to do up here in the North Georgia Mountain area.
July 4 falls on a Sunday this year and that means that you can expect an entire weekend full of fun. To kick things off here in Dahlonega the First Friday Night Concert Series will feature two excellent bands to get you in the spirit for the holiday weekend. The Euegene Wiggins Memorial Fund for the Preservation of Traditional Music is sponsoring this celebration of traditional American music. Performing bands include the Georgia Mudcats and Yahoola.
The Georgia Mudcats have a wide reputation for great Appalachian string-band music, country blues, and traditional Southern music. Yahoola’s 10-year reputation for harmony singing and participation in some of the best bluegrass in the North Georgia area make them an exciting opener for the concert.
The "First Friday Night Concert Series" is produced by the City of Dahlonega's Better Hometown Program and Downtown Development Authority.
The concert begins at 6:30 pm on July 2. Be sure to check out the rest of the First Friday Night Concert Series be visiting the Dahlonega Development Downtown Authority’s website here.
