Take A Canoe Trip With Appalachian Outfitters

canoe13/020402 -- Canoeing through Bulls Falls on the Shenandoah River, West Virginia.

Appalachian Outfitters has been helping North Georgia Mountain residents enjoy tubing, canoeing, and kayaking for almost 30 years. Located just 10 minutes away from Achasta, Appalachian Outfitters offers an amazing outdoor experience for community members without going too far from home.

The Chestatee River gives first time paddlers or tubers a gentle ride over mild rapids. There is also great scenery and even better fishing.

The Etowah River presents a more challenging ride for experienced canoers and kayakers. With moderate rapids and scenery littered with beautiful wildflowers, the Etowah River is an enjoyable ride that is a little more of challenging than the gentle flow of the Chestatee River.

Milton Bruce, an Achasta resident, recently took a canoe trip down the Chestatee River and enjoyed every minute of it.

“The entire trip took two and a half hours and I fully enjoyed it,” said Bruce. “I would recommend getting there early, because we were the first ones out that day with no waiting.”

“The scenery was nice,” said Bruce. “The staff at Appalachian Outfitters was helpful by putting in and taking out the canoes for you.”

Bruce plans on taking the moonlight trip in the fall which is when guided night tours start.
