halloweenA visit to the square for safe and fun trick-or-treating has become a favorite past time of local residents.  Merchants of the town open their doors every year and embrace the fun and excitement of Halloween.  This year the Gold Museum will be holding a costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest.  The costume contest will be divided into age groups which include birth to 5, 6 to 10, 11 to 15, and 16 to 20.  Three winners will be selected from each age group and the most original overall will be awarded.

The pumpkin-carving contest will be broken into age groups similar to the costume contest.  There will be first, second, and third place prizes awarded to each age group and there will be one overall winner for the scariest pumpkin.

This year’s Trick or Treat On The Square will be a fun and safe environment for the entire family.  The fun starts around 5:30.  You don’t want to miss out on a fun filled night of trick or treating with the entire community of Dahlonega.
