Southern Heritage Woodworks Furniture Featured In The Ideal Living Home
The Ideal Living Home at Achasta has been recognized for its sustainable design and green construction. If you haven’t visited the home you may not be aware that the Achasta community and the home’s designers carried out their commitment in every detail of the home including the beautiful woof furniture featured throughout.
When selecting what furniture would be used in the showhome, everyone knew that the company and the furniture needed to accurately capture the sustainable theme of the home, the community, and the North Georgia Mountains. Southern Heritage Woodworks was the perfect partner.
Based in Sylvester, GA., this unique furniture company makes all of their products with re-claimed wood from old structures facing demolition. Think tobacco farms, textile mills, and other old buildings. For owner David Accord, furniture construction with re-claimed woods started as a hobby but soon turned into a part-time business when he began doing custom jobs. Southern Heritage Woodworks now operates out of an 80,000 sq. ft warehouse where it still focuses on quality furniture and flooring made from re-claimed and quality heart pine. Accord owns the company along with his wife Virginia.
Southern Heritage Woodworks is a unique company committed to founding principles as they grow. Its attention to detail and commitment to re-claimed materials are why it was chosen as a vendor for the 2010 Ideal Living Home at Achasta.
