Sustainable Features Of The Ideal Living Home

The 2010 Ideal Living Home at Achasta features numerous green products.  From its zero VOC paint to its kitchen countertops made of recycled glass and porcelain, the vendors and their products for this year’s showhome were carefully selected by the home’s designers.

Most of the sustainable features throughout the home are easy to see.  They are visually beautiful while also healthy and eco-friendly.  What you might not immediately realize is that some of the most important sustainable features in the home cannot be readily seen.

Insulation and radiant barriers play a large role in a sustainable home.  The majority of possible energy savings in a home comes from air and temperature control.  By keeping hot air out of an attic you are able to maintain a comfortable temperature without expending extra energy.  That’s why the Ideal Living Home utilizes the LP® TechShield® radiant barrier.  This barrier blocks radiant heat from entering the attic space which keeps the home at a comfortable temperature.  Icynene Insulation is used throughout the home to insure that no air can escape and no unwanted air from the outside can get it.  The insulation also provides a superior sound barrier for the home providing a private and quiet atmosphere.

These are only two of the products utilized in this year’s Idea Living Home here at Achasta.  For more information about the home, the products, and their vendors visit the 2010 Ideal Living Home webpage.

You can always come out and see the home for yourself.  Achasta would love to have you as a guest.  For more information about Achasta please visit us at Acahsta.com
