Billy Widis of Alpharetta, GA caught a 5 – 6 pound rainbow trout in the Chestatee River right here in the heart of the Achasta community. His passion for fishing is one reason Widis is a proud homesite owner here at Achasta. He loves to fish and as you can see, the waters of the Chestatee River flowing though Achasta are ready to be fished.

Despite the 4in rain we had last week, the trout at Achasta are hanging on strong and were hungry this weekend. On Sunday, Achasta member Billy Widis reeled in a 2lb, 15in rainbow trout using a green flashback bugger while float fishing on the property (pictured). Billy, who currently lives in Alpharetta, says, "I'll definitely be back for more soon!"

The trout are swimming strong at Achasta! With the inaugural year of OutBound underway, we are looking forward to a great trout season.
The rainbow trout from opening day were absolutely spectacular and look like they are ready to take on the residents’ fly fishing skills. I was fortunate enough to nab one of the whoppers in the river… unfortunately the picture didn’t turn out too well because he was almost too big to hold with one person. Contact me for details on getting out to try your hand.
